Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

Happy Wednesday Edmontonians!

We’re exited about building stronger communities across the city.. and today's cover story shares a big upcoming initiative....

Now, for this week's scoop:

1. Alberta invests $114.6 million to strengthen rural infrastructure!

2. Did you know?

3. What's happening this week?

4. Your Weather

Let’s get to it...

The Alberta government is putting $114.6 million into rural communities, giving roads, bridges, water systems, and even small airports a much-needed boost.

The goal? To help towns grow, attract families and businesses, and improve everyday life. This funding comes from programs like the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program (STIP) and Water for Life.

For 2025, STIP is covering 51 projects, including $2.6 million for upgrading Range Road 150, $3.6 million to replace a bridge on Township Road 352, and $2.5 million for Lac la Biche’s airport pavement.

On the water side, grants include $8.9 million to upgrade Brooks’ wastewater treatment plant and $1 million to expand Bonnyville’s waterline. That’s 35 projects in total to make sure rural water systems stay reliable.

These investments aren’t just about patching things up. Better infrastructure means safer roads, cleaner water, and more reasons for businesses and families to stick around.

It shows the province is serious about supporting life outside the big cities.
